Description

Greenbush – The Southeast Kansas Education Service Center is seeking applications for a Learn and Play Coordinator at Russell Child Development Center in Garden City, KS.

Job Summary: The Learn & Play Coordinator is responsible for providing program leadership and administrative oversight; providing support and/or conveying information to Learn & Play Facilitators and Coaches; serving as a resource to other personnel, including the Executive Director and the Board of Directors; ensuring the objectives of Learn & Play are achieved within budget; communicating with a wide variety of internal and external groups and individuals; and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and codes.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  1. Job-related experience within the specialized field is required.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, School Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field.
  3. Valid driver's license for employment.
  4. Successful completion of Defensive Driving course, provided by RCDC.
  5. Background Clearance.

 

Preferred:

  1. Master’s degree in Early Childhood, School Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related area.
  2. Minimum of five-year work history in a job-related field.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

  1. Demonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  2. Collaborate with a wide variety of internal and external groups and partners (e.g. advisory councils, community organizations, and community partners) to implement program components, create long and short-term plans, and address program objectives.
  3. Support program sites in developing and implementing grant objectives including reporting and tracking data.
  4. Develop, communicate, implement, and evaluate local partner site programs and processes to meet established quality guidelines and enhance excellence.
  5. Conduct program site observations and provide feedback for continuous improvement of Learn & Play.
  6. Compile data from a wide variety of internal and external sources to report on program outcomes and measure the attainment of program objectives.
  7. Supervise and evaluate assigned personnel for the purposes of monitoring performance, providing for professional growth, and ensuring that standards and objectives are achieved.
  8. Facilitate and participate in meetings and trainings involving a range of issues (e.g. quality services, program requirements, contracts, grant proposals, program implementation, etc.) in order to convey and gain information, develop recommendations, guide and support program facilitators, and/or represent the agency.
  9. Facilitate communication for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems, and/or resolving conflicts.
  10. Oversee program operations, budgets, and related activities to ensure objectives are attained within budget and in compliance with established regulations and operational practices.
  11. Prepare and maintain a variety of manual and electronic documents, files, and records within required timelines in order to adequately document activities, convey information, and ensure the availability of information as required for reference and/or compliance.
  12. Represent the agency across the service area and provide information about programs, services, and needs.
  13. Maintain current knowledge (e.g. best practices, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations, financial resources, etc.) research resources and methods, participate in continuous improvement professional development activities, and support new approaches in order to determine and provide appropriate and effective services for addressing identified outcomes.

 

General Responsibilities:

  4. Maintain strict confidentiality as outlined by FERPA and HIPAA.
  5. Ability to work alone and in groups to provide services.
  6. Assume responsibility for individual professional growth by staying current with research and practices.
  7. Demonstrate proficiency in effectively and regularly communicating with other employees of RCDC and clients.
  8. Complete all assignments timely, including communication with other staff and clients or contractors.
  9. Adhere to all professional guidelines as outlined in agency policies.
  10. Independently manage daily assignments and activities ensuring performance outcomes are achieved within budget, timeline, department, and agency objectives.
  11. Follow all safety requirements as directed by RCDC.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designee.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. 70 % sitting, 15% walking, and 15% standing
  2. Lifting up to 30 pounds.
  3. Manage all job duties with mobility, agility, and dexterity.
  4. Sit/stand for long periods of time.
  5. Ability to drive in varying weather and geographical conditions.
  6. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard-free environment.
