Job Summary: Maintain safe facilities and grounds, minimizing property damage, loss, and liability exposure ensuring that all assignments are completed in a safe, proper, and timely manner.
Qualifications
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license for employment.
Background Clearance.
Preferred:
Job-related experience in groundskeeping, repair, and maintenance of equipment.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- Monitors facilities ensuring work sites are suitable for safe operations, maintaining attractive and clean conditions, and identifying and prioritizing necessary repairs.
- Perform job-related, seasonal facilities maintenance tasks including preventative maintenance and repairs (equipment, fixtures, utilities, etc.) maintaining building, grounds, tools, and equipment in operational order.
- Carry out seasonal grounds maintenance tasks including monitoring and maintaining sprinkler systems, mowing, trimming, caring for landscaping, and cleaning sidewalks and parking lots.
- Assist with snow and ice removal (e.g. sweeping, de-icing, sanding, etc.) ensuring essential areas are free of obstructions, allowing for safe passing.
- Handle a variety of items (e.g. packaging materials, supplies, lawn and garden chemicals, yard waste, equipment, etc.) storing, distributing, and discarding materials to the appropriate parties and locations.
- Assist in the maintenance of the warehouse area by keeping floors and storage areas clean and orderly.
- Respond to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g. facility or equipment damage, vandalism, alarms, etc.) taking appropriate actions or notifying appropriate agency personnel for resolution.
- Secures facilities and grounds (e.g. doors, gates, alarms, lights, etc.) minimizing property damage, equipment loss, and potential liability.
- Assist with the set-up of special events and fundraising events hosted by the agency.
- Adhere to all professional guidelines as outlined in agency policies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the agency
General Responsibilities:

- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
- Maintain strict confidentiality as outlined by FERPA and HIPAA.
- Ability to work alone and in groups to provide services.
- Demonstrate proficiency in effectively and regularly communicating with other employees of RCDC and clients.
- Complete all assignments timely, including communication with other staff and clients or contractors.
- Follow all safety requirements as directed by RCDC.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designee.
Physical Requirements:
- 5 % sitting, 50% walking and 45% standing
- Lifting up to 80 pounds.
- Manage all job duties with mobility, agility, and dexterity.
- Sit/stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to drive in varying weather and geographical conditions.
- The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard-free environment.
