Greenbush - The Southeast Kansas Education Service Center is seeking applications for a School Improvement Services Administrator either in the Lawrence or Girard area. 

 

Anticipated start date: July 1, 2020. Position will remain open until filled. Equal Opportunity Employer.

 

Job Summary: The School Improvement Services Administrator will work with individuals and/or departments and school districts to develop professional development plans and/or facilitate, coordinate, and deliver professional learning activities to support the continuous improvement of schools and districts.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated ability to create and implement professional growth plans for individuals, schools, and/or districts 
  2. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver effective professional development.
  3. Desire to continue career improvement by enhancing job skills and performance.
  4. Kansas Building Administrator or District Administrator License.
  5. Previous experience in building and/or district administration.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders in multiple school districts. 
  2. Ability to collaborate with other members of the School Improvement Services Team in developing services and programming for SIS member districts.
  3. Ability to facilitate and help school districts complete building-based action plans, needs assessments, surveys, classroom observations and walkthroughs, and other accreditation activities.
  4. Knowledge and experience in developing and implementing project-based and personalized learning.
  5. Knowledge and experience working with Kansas State BOE Outcomes, the KESA process, New Teacher Mentoring, and/or School Redesign.
  6. Knowledge and experience in navigating changes in building and district initiatives.
  7. Ability to communicate and work effectively and constructively with cohort districts and service center staff.
  8. Ability to work with cohort districts on strategies that improve instruction and student achievement.
  9. Ability to serve as a resource to cohort administrators and other staff members for matters related to curriculum, instruction, and achievement, as well as help coordinate support utilizing other agencies, departments, and business partners.
  10. Ability to report on the status for cohort programs and services at the request of cohort superintendents, Director of School Improvement, or the Executive Director.
  11. Ability to provide professional development for administrators and teachers as requested by the cohort superintendents, the Director of School Improvement, or the Executive Director.
  12. Ability to work with business partners, service center staff, and consultants to provide requested services to districts.
  13. Ability to ensure all developed programs and activities conform to cohort district guidelines.

General Functions:

  1. Support the SEKESC mission, goals, and objectives.
  2. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
  3. Maintain strict confidentiality.
  4. Demonstrate proficiency in ability to produce excellent work as requested by the executive team.
  5. Demonstrate proficiency in ability to effectively and regularly communicate with SEKESC employees and constituents.
  6. Complete all assignments in a time-sensitive manner as determined by Executive Director or designee.
  7. Meet all safety requirements as directed by the SEKESC

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Work collaboratively with staff and programs within SEKESC, from other Service Centers, or business partners to support the instructional resource needs of partner schools and districts.
  2. Coordinate and deliver professional development activities to partner district administrators and staff.
  3. Refer partner school districts to agencies, departments, and business partners that may provide needed resources or services.
  4. Provide appropriate SEKESC supervisors with reports on specific professional development and services provided to district partners.
  5. Document frequent communications with district partners.
  6. Assist or direct the writing of required professional learning plans as needed.
  7. Ability to coordinate special events (i.e. workshops, symposiums, lunch & learns, conferences) to provide/promote student achievement.
  8. Keep current on changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing concerns of mutual interest with others in the field.
  9. Implement and follow all SEKESC health and safety policies, including all precautions of the bloodborne pathogens exposure control plan.
  10. Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or designee.

Physical Requirements

  1. Manage all job duties with mobility, agility, and dexterity.
  2. Requires long periods of sitting and standing.
  3. Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments with numerous interruptions.
  4. Must travel frequently in personal car or service center vehicle.

In addition to the benefit package, Greenbush recognizes the importance of continued education throughout an employee’s career and offers the Greenbush Education Reimbursement Plan to support employees in their education endeavors. The plan provides an opportunity for any Greenbush employee working at least 1,004 hours per year to be reimbursed up to $1200 per contract year for tuition costs.
