Job Summary: The Project Manager is an integral team member overseeing the projects and processes related to research, evaluation, and program development provided by the Southeast Kansas Education Service Center (SEKESC). This position will work with the Director in managing projects contracted by multiple organizations, state and federal agencies. The Project Manager will facilitate planning project stages and monitor progress to ensure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met. The project manager also serves as a liaison between project team members, stakeholders, and internal operational units.

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (i.e. three to five years’ related experience managing and administering complex projects or grant-funded projects)
  2. Successful experience facilitating planning processes and monitoring and documenting project milestones, objectives, and activities
  3. Proficiency in developing effective communications and documentation for stakeholders
  4. Strong administrative abilities and proficiency using Microsoft Office products
  5. Valid Kansas Driver’s license

Preferred:

  1. Project Management Certification by a recognized industry professional organization

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. Support the proactive management of multiple projects.
  2. Develop, implement, and facilitate a project management system to ensure efficient and effective completion of project objectives, milestones, and deliverables.
  3. Facilitate project teams through the design and development of project timelines.
  4. Provide support to manage program, documentation, budgets, prepare summary reports, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  5. Prepare project documentation, build work plans, monitor activities throughout implementation and ensure appropriate closeout is completed in an efficient, effective and timely manner. Maintain schedule through life of project, follow process for project changes, issues and change management; ensure appropriate rollouts and stakeholder education are conducted. Maintain contact with project team, stakeholders and clients on assigned projects.
  6. Communicate project management and process procedures to project team members, internal operational units, and external stakeholders.
  7. Assist with preparation of status and activity reports.
  8. Continually evaluate the project management process for improved efficiencies and effectiveness by applying standard project management practices.
  9. Assist department personnel and project associates in understanding and adopting project management processes and procedures and support ongoing professional development.
  10. Assist with long-range development efforts.
  11. Assist with budget development, monitoring, and management.
  12. Responsible for invoicing for contracted, grant-funded and other program services fees.

  6. Must demonstrate proficiency in ability to effectively and regularly communicate with SEKESC employees and constituents
  7. Must complete all assignments in a time-sensitive manner as determined by Executive Director/Supervisor
  8. Must meet all safety requirements as directed by the SEKESC
  9. Must perform other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director

Physical Requirements:

  1. Manages all job duties with mobility, agility, and dexterity.
  2. Requires long periods of time sitting, standing and working on a computer.
  3. Work in a noisy environment with many interruptions
  4. Required to travel in a personal or SEKESC vehicle
  5. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

In addition to the benefit package, Greenbush recognizes the importance of continued education throughout an employee’s career and offers the Greenbush Education Reimbursement Plan to support employees in their education endeavors. The plan provides an opportunity for any Greenbush employee working at least 1,004 hours per year to be reimbursed up to $1200 per contract year for tuition costs.
