Description

Greenbush - The Southeast Kansas Education Service Center is seeking applications for a Technology Assistant.

Job Summary:  The Technology Assistant provides technology support services to the organization's staff and programs, and participating school districts.  

 

Qualifications

Required

  1. Minimum Associates degree in a related field, Completed a Certification or Training Program, or 2+ years experience.
  2. Demonstrated field experience working with end-user technical support in a responsive, helpful, courteous, and tactful manner leading to timely and appropriate problem resolution or escalation 
  3. Demonstrated ability to educate staff on a variety of technology tools; including Google Apps, Microsoft 365, and web-based software 
  4. Demonstrated field experience working with confidential and time-sensitive matters 
  5. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills 
  6. Demonstrated organization skills, with attention to detail 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Install new workstations, laptops, printers, and peripherals, preparing them for use; including recycling 
  2. Provide first-response technical support, including testing and troubleshooting workstations, laptops, printers, and peripherals; contacting Tier2 or vendor support as required 
  3. Install, test and troubleshoot software applications, being conscious of software requirements, license restrictions, and end-user needs 
  4. Ability to diagnosis a problem and provide a solution
  5. Work with Tier2 staff to manage and maintain wiring closets, including cleanliness, labeling, and cable management 
  6. Work with Tier2 staff to maintain optimal network performance and security 

General Responsibilities

  1. Keep student and personnel information and records confidential, with strict confidentiality.
  2. Must support the Service Center mission, goals and objectives
  3. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  4. Must complete all assignments in a time-sensitive manner
  5. Must meet all safety requirements as directed by the Service Center
  6. Must perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designee
  7. Travel is a requirement with some overnight.

Physical Requirements

  1. Manages all job duties with mobility, agility, and dexterity.  Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials.
  2. Ability to physically lift and carry technology equipment (approximately 40 lbs.)
  3. Requires prolonged sitting or standing and use of equipment including repetitive motions and computer eye fatigue.
  4. Work in a noisy environment with many interruptions
  5. May be exposed to Hepatitis B and/or other communicable diseases.

The plan provides an opportunity for any Greenbush employee working at least 1,004 hours per year to be reimbursed up to $1200 per contract year for tuition costs.
