Greenbush - The Southeast Kansas Education Service Center is seeking applications for an Audiology Assistant. 

 

Anticipated start date: September 16, 2019. Position will remain open until filled. Equal Opportunity Employer.

 

Job Summary:  The audiology assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed audiologist, performing selected tasks, which may include, child/student assessment of hearing and hearing aid device troubleshooting, maintenance, as well as compiling reports, ordering materials and other clerical duties.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of high school diploma or certificate of equivalency.
  2. Must be flexible
  3. Must have a valid driver's license
  4. Must have proficient technology skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Complete a training program conducted by a licensed audiologist.
  2. Be knowledgeable and competent in working with children.
  3. Be knowledgeable in the types of equipment used for hearing assessment.
  4. Be knowledgeable in the types of hearing assessment procedures.
  5. Be knowledgeable and competent in the placement of equipment used to assess hearing, ie. headphones, insert earphones, tympanometry probe tips and OAE probe tips.
  6. Work under the direction of and collaboratively with the supervising audiologist.
  7. Be knowledgeable in hearing assistive technology devices and functions.
  8. Is reliable, punctual, completes duties promptly and accurately.
  9. Maintain the facility or assigned area, to keep it clean and safe for students, families and staff.
  10. Work independently with minimum supervision.
  11. Requires comprehensive use of computers and other technology

  General Responsibilities:

  1. Must support the Southeast Kansas Education Service Center (SEKESC) mission, goals, and objectives.
  2. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
  3. Must maintain strict confidentiality.
  4. Must demonstrate proficiency in ability to produce excellent work as requested by the executive team.
  5. Must assume responsibility for individual professional growth by staying current with literature, research, and/or practices.
  6. Must complete all assignments in a time-sensitive manner as determined by Executive Director/Supervisor.
  7. Must meet all safety requirements as directed by the SEKESC.

  10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designee.

Physical Requirements

  1. Manage all job duties with mobility, agility, and dexterity.
  2. Requires long periods of sitting and standing.
  3. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  4. Requires extensive travel during the workday.
  5. Must work in an environment with numerous interruptions.

In addition to the benefit package, Greenbush recognizes the importance of continued education throughout an employee’s career and offers the Greenbush Education Reimbursement Plan to support employees in their education endeavors. The plan provides an opportunity for any Greenbush employee working at least 1,004 hours per year to be reimbursed up to $1200 per contract year for tuition costs.
