Greenbush - The Southeast Kansas Education Service Center is seeking applications for an Administrative Assistant, Special Education.

 

Job Summary:  Provides office services by implementing procedures and policies and monitoring administrative projects. He/she will provide a wide range of administrative and office support activities to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization. Supports the organization’s mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence and competence, collaboration, innovation, commitment to program, accountability, and ownership.

Qualifications:

     

 Required:

  1. High school diploma or certificate of equivalency.
  2. Two years previous administrative assistant experience.
  3. Valid driver’s license.
  4. Current on health immunizations.
  5. Knowledge of principles and practices of basic office management.
  6. Strong computer skills and knowledge of relevant software.
  7. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 Preferred:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in related field

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. General clerical duties including answer, screen, and transfer phone calls, photocopying, fax, and distribute mail, maintain office supply inventories, and provide research and administrative support to special projects; prepare data, reports and follow-up on projects.
  2. Train personnel in various subjects related to assigned area operations.
  3. Maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems.
  4. Handle requests for information and data.
  5. Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments.
  6. Coordinate maintenance of office equipment.
  7. Maintain records in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, IDEA and any other applicable laws, regulations or policies.
  8. Responds to requests from other agencies to accommodate their needs in accordance with district, state and federal guidelines.
  9. Regular interactions with all staff members.
  10. Ensures each visitor to the facility signs individuals in and out for their appointments.

  1. Must support the Service Center mission, goals, and objectives
  2. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  3. Must maintain strict confidentiality
  4. Must demonstrate proficiency in ability to produce excellent work as requested by the executive team
  5. Must assume responsibility for individual professional growth as related to job duties.
  6. Must demonstrate proficiency in ability to effectively and regularly communicate with Service Center employees and constituents
  7. Must complete all assignments in a time-sensitive manner as determined by Supervisor
  8. Must meet all safety requirements as directed by the Service Center
  9. Must perform other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director or designee
  10. Must maintain consistent attendance

The plan provides an opportunity for any Greenbush employee working at least 1,004 hours per year to be reimbursed up to $1200 per contract year for tuition costs.
