Greenbush's Special Purpose School, a special day school serving students with high needs disabilities, has a need for an energetic and compassionate individual to serve as substitute paraprofessional or teacher. 

 

For this position, we are collecting a pool of applicants to fill-in when additional staff are needed.  However, this position has the potential to become either long-term or full-time for the right candidate.

The Special Purpose School is a special education program designed to teach students life and vocational skills, independent living and self-help skills, and provide a fun and healthy environment that will help the students transition toward independent living.

Our program serves students with multiple disabilities, moderate intellectual disabilities, and/or those on the Autism Spectrum.  Our students range between the ages of 8 and 21.   

The substitute paraprofessional or teacher assists with day-to-day educational instruction and support in leisure activities.  This position is under the supervision of the site coordinator/designee. This individual will play a critical role in helping students gain knowledge, develop skills, and improve life satisfaction.

In addition to the benefit package, Greenbush recognizes the importance of continued education throughout an employee’s career and offers the Greenbush Education Reimbursement Plan to support employees in their education endeavors. The plan provides an opportunity for any Greenbush employee working at least 1,004 hours per year to be reimbursed up to $1200 per contract year for tuition costs. Employees of Greenbush meeting the hour requirement can apply to participate in the program by completing the Tuition Reimbursement Application Form. In addition, Greenbush offers a Professional License Reimbursement Program, which provides full reimbursement for professional licenses with specific Kansas licensing authorities and other appropriate authorities (a complete list can be provided upon request).
